The City of Courtenay Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider is Homewood Health and can be found at www.homeweb.ca or call 1-800-663-1142 (24-hour toll-free access number).

The EFAP is a free confidential and anonymous program which offers short-term counselling and support related to a wide variety of issues including relationship issues, depression and anxiety, stress management, grief and bereavement, work and family balance, parenting, gambling, substance use and work-related problems. The EFAP is completely confidential.  Homewood Health will not release to The City of Courtenay information pertaining to who has accessed the program. Comox Valley Regional District

The Comox Valley Regional District Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) can be found at https://humanacare.com/ or call 1-800- 661-8193. The EFAP is a confidential, professional counselling service. Employees, spouses, and dependant children are able to access the service at no additional charge (it is part of the benefit plan provided by the CVRD). The service provides assistance with personal and/or family issues such as stress, depression, addictions, relationships, grief and loss, and parenting issues. The service also covers career, nutrition and naturopathic counselling.  Family members are able to make use of the service independently and do not need the employee to be involved unless they wish. The website also provides useful information on different topics.

To get the user ID and password you can contact the human resources department or go into the main office lunch room where there are several business cards on the bulletin board for staff to take. If you have any questions please contact human resources.

Pensions:
All four units in our local are part of the BC Municipal Pension Plan.
